approximate anthropometries2013 - 2015

In 2012 I found a photograph of an expedition carried out by a team from the nascent National Institute of Anthropology to the peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.  A German scientist led the group's research. The image shows a scientist with a craniometer  taking measurements of the heads of some young indigenous people. Today we know that the mere scientific action of taking measurement and weight data is not alien to political interpretations, and racial and social hierarchization.  The project proposed the exercise of taking measurements but in a different direction in meetings in which the traveler asks to be measured by the people in his path.
