Statement

Alberto Baraya, plastic artist, traveler and researcher who,

through his projects and plastic works, focuses on the defense of the practice of art as a legitimate form of Knowledge, on the use of scientific methodologies as a tool for plastic research and on the use of The Expedition as its most effective format of work.

​

Over the years he has conceived the character of the Artificial Naturalist, a persistent and ironic explorer who seeks to reconstruct the lost identity of the relationships between man and nature.

​

Their concerns have been expressed in a specific way in the Herbario de plantas artificiales / Herbarium of Artificial Plants, an artistic project that has given rise to different artistic works that make up an extensive Archive of collections, photographs, drawings and stories of a false biology.
